Meet your Beauty Practitioner Michelle Murray

Hello, my name is Michelle Murray and I am the woman behind Joelle Couture. Believe it or not, I am in my early 40s and the mother of 4 grown boys, and a nanny to 2 beautiful girls. I have a fast paced lifestyle, am constantly on the go, but always make sure to slow down, reset and take care of myself. Self-care has always meant a lot to me, and I get a buzz from making people feed good about themselves. It was a passion that drove me into the beauty industry and finding a career that suited me.

My career started in 2012, when I completed my Level 5 in Beauty Therapy, and began establishing my own salon which offered a range of beauty treatments. Straight away I knew this was the right place for me to be. I loved meeting new people on a daily basis, they would enter the salon feeling one way; cautious, nervous and a little embarrassed at times & then I would see them glide out of the salon feeling quite the opposite; confident, empowered and proud. And it may have been something as easy as a spray tan, to highlight their personal glow, or a complete makeover. I loved seeing the transformation for my clients emotionally and physically.

The beauty industry is demanding for all those involved. The long hours, constant training, refresher courses, new treatments and trends being projected by the media. We have to know about it all, whether we practice certain procedures or not, we need to know about all of them. Watching my clients leave my salon with a smile on their face proves to me that all my hard work is worth it.

Aesthetic treatments grew a rapid popularity amongst women and men of all ages. People were no longer shy of the stigmas that were once related to fillers, Botox, enhancing or altering one’s physical appearance. I knew at this point, that I needed to be able to offer my ever-growing client base these same treatments that were becoming readily available and popular everywhere. And, I needed to do it well.

I dove deep into the big world of aesthetics and what was happening around the world. I knew that my passion and fire was not going to die down any time soon, and I couldn’t stop. I wanted to offer my clientele the whole package. If that’s what they needed to boost their self-esteem, to look good and feel even better, I wanted to be part of that journey. In 2015 when I started offering aesthetic treatments, my client base grew rapidly and I have maintained a 5 rating and feedback.

My clients often comment on how relaxed and at ease they feel during and after our consultations. They say that my extensive knowledge and suitable recommendations are key traits needed to be an educator, and I would make a great teacher.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, it threw us all into a space of questioning our career choices, where would we go next and how can we build on ourselves to do more? The pandemic pushed me to take the plunge to further develop my business, and I would now be teaching my expertise to likeminded individuals who share the same passions and interest for the beauty industry.

A challenging role, but also a place of expression and understanding. I now find myself in a position to educate, where I can share the knowledge and skills, I have spent so much time learning. I can now share my passion with other budding practitioners. I introduce to you, Joelle Couture Aesthetics Training Academy.
